From an early age, Bodin displayed immense creativity and a passion for the arts. Born in Ojai, CA, he grew up in a family of artists; his father a photographer and musician and his mother an artist and teacher. His great grandfather was a portrait painter and also taught at the Art Institute of Chicago.

With this constant influence and support, Bodin began to develop his artistic career. At age 10, he began a weekly cartoon strip in the local paper. While in high school,  he was hired to do a number of illustration projects. From ads and calendars to company Christmas Cards and window displays, he began to accumulate experience doing commercial design.

Bodin continued his education at Edgewood College in Madison, WI where he acquired a BA in fine art. While at Edgewood, Bodin expanded his knowledge in a variety of media. He studied in Italy during his junior year, and had the opportunity to examine the works of the great masters of the Italian Renaissance. This life changing experience, brought him back to the U.S. refreshed and inspired. He created many of the works for his senior show drawing from the influence of his recent travels.

During his four years in college, Bodin received grants for Art, Music, and Theater. He also received a Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors Association Scholarship during his senior year. Bodin graduated with honors in 2001.

Yearning to return to the west coast, Bodin moved out to Los Angeles in 2003 with his fiance. Having grown up heavily influenced by Jim Henson, George Lucas, and (the late) Stan Winston, Bodin had aspirations of doing special effects in a creature shop.

In 2004, Bodin landed an interview at the legendary Stan Winston Studio. Impressed by his portfolio, Bodin was offered a job. This was a dream come true. He quickly learned the techniques of the practical effects business. He worked at SWS for two years molding and casting sculptures and parts, running foam latex, fabricating suits and creatures, painting, sculpting and eventually doing concept designs for a number of commercials.

In December 2007, Bodin was offered a job as an illustrator and graphic designer at a design studio in El Segundo. Bodin currently resides in Redondo Beach, CA with his beautiful wife Katy where he continues to do graphic design and concept art.
